The School Recap 2024

Majáles

On the 10th May 2024 all high schools from Jindřichův Hradec participated in the event called Majáles.

Every year, third graders organise this event and this year wasn't different. Our students came up with and idea for the theme, which was Western. Every school chose their king and queen, who had to give a speech at the castle. After the speeches the jury decided who the winner is.

Even though we didn't win, we all enjoyed it. We ended the event with a party in KC Jitka, where all of the students met and had a great night together.

 

Looking back at our Cambridge First exam

Last year at the beginning of June, we took the Cambridge First exam, and it was a valuable experience for all of us.

The exam is divided into several challenging parts, like speaking, writing, listening, and use of English.

For preparation we worked on expanding our vocabulary, we practised test exercises, spoke in pairs with random people, so we can get used to real conversations, and focused on improving our speaking skills.

What about the exam itself? We were really nervous at first, but in the end it turned out to be much easier. So, don't worry,  students. If you practice hard enough, you will definitely earn the certificate.

An Art Project

In September 2023 a creative and exciting art project took place in our school. This project involved drawing and in the end displaying anime and manga characters in class 2. 

At first we had to choose which characters to draw, and after that the colour scheme for the backgrounds. When we completed these first steps, the journey began.

Our first drawings were done around the Christmas break, and our last were finished by the beginning of June 2024.

We want to thank everyone that was involved in this project and if anyone is interested and wants to check out our drawings, they are displayed in class 2 on the ground floor.

Trip to Italy

From the 4th September to 7th September, we went on a trip to Italy. When we arrived in Italy, the first stop was at Dolomites and Lake Misurina. On the second day we traveled by boat to Venice. The weather was not good. It was raining all day. Despite this, we enjoyed it. We took a boat ride along the Canal Grande. On the third day we traveled to Verona. Of course we stopped by the famous Juliet's balcony. Then we moved to the town of Malcesine on the Lake Garda. After this we packed our stuff and we went back home.

 The Principal's Cup

On the 10th of October 2024 students from around Jindřichův Hradec have met in our school to participate in an economic competition, and to avoid disturbing them, we were forced to enlist in the army for a day.

The entire event took place in the local park, where several stands were set up for us. The activities that impressed us the most included shooting an airsoft gun, along with throwing a fake grenade, and many more. We also had the opportunity to learn about military equipment, first aid and teamwork. 

In other words, everything was fun and interesting.

We really enjoyed this event and hope for further cooperation between our school and the Czech Army in the future.
